This week we are celebrating International Women’s Day – Friday 8 March! In this article, we turn the focus on two women who are at the heart of AXA Marthon – Karine and Virginie.

Karine and Virginie bring years of experience to their roles at the Charente-based agency. Karine has been with AXA since 1998, while Virginie joined AXA Marthon in 2012. Working alongside Agent Général Florent Morin, they assist clients with enquiries and manage insurance claims. In this interview, Karine and Virginie share insights into the influential women who inspire them and offer valuable advice for young women embarking on their career journeys.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Karine: That’s an easy question to answer! Contact with our clients, speaking to them on the phone or when they pop into the office.

Virginie: Finding the best solution to meet our customers’ needs.

Which woman inspires you most – and why?

Karine:  Josephine Baker: a singer, dancer, actress, showgirl and resistance fighter, she also adopted 12 children. She was a great lady.

Virginie: I’m not inspired by any one woman in particular. Instead, I find inspiration in all the women around me who successfully juggle their professional careers, motherhood, and personal lives without running out of steam.

Final question: What message/advice would you give to other young women who are starting their careers today?

Karine: Doing a job you love but also believing in yourself is the first step towards success.

Virginie: I wish them all the best! If they are entering the insurance field, which is constantly changing and exciting, they will never get bored because they must handle this complex field on a case-by-case basis. They will encounter difficult situations, because we are close to the lives of our policyholders in difficult times. But they will feel fulfilled and proud of their work in supporting our customers’ projects or resolving the difficulties of the moment.
