We probably all know someone who has had breast cancer, amongst our family or friends. Indeed, breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide; in France, doctors diagnose around 50,000 women with the disease every year.

That’s just one reason why AXA Marthon is proud to support the Octobre Rose (Pink October) campaign, to raise awareness in France and globally, with more than 70 countries taking part in the festivities.

The annual October Rose Marathon transforms the country’s streets into a sea of pink and red. This unique marathon is a celebration of running, health as well as the beauty of the autumn season.

From 1 to 31 October, there are events to raise money for research and prevention across France – and in our local community of Marthon we have our own fundraising efforts too. On October 20^th there is a “Octobre Rose marathon” consisting of 2, 8 and 13km walks – and open to everyone.
